Lora Leedham Jewellery Ltd - Terms & Conditions (Bespoke Commissions)
1. General - By placing a bespoke order with Lora Leedham Jewellery Ltd, the client agrees to the following terms and conditions. These are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and a positive working relationship.
2. Consultations & Design Development- Initial consultations (via email, phone, or in-person) are complimentary.- Following the design brief, a formal quote will be issued.- Designs are considered final once approved by the client. Any significant design changes made after approval may incur additional costs.
3. Deposits- A non-refundable deposit of the final quote is required before any work or material purchasing begins.- This deposit secures the commission slot and covers material costs and initial labour.- No materials will be ordered, nor work commenced, until the deposit is received.
4. Cancellations- If a client cancels after work has begun, the deposit will be retained to cover the costs incurred.- In cases where additional work has been carried out beyond the deposit value, the client may be liable for those costs.- Cancellation of a completed piece does not exempt the client from payment of the remaining balance.
5. Amendments & Alterations- Minor alterations (such as engraving adjustments or small size tweaks) are usually included in thecommission, unless otherwise stated.- Significant design changes after commencement may incur further charges. - Clients will be notified of any such costs before changes are made.
6. Progress Updates- Clients will be sent progress photos during key stages of the making process.- Any concerns should be raised promptly - delays in feedback may delay the completion timeline.
7. Completion & Collection- Final balances must be paid before the finished piece is collected or delivered.- Pieces not collected within 90 days of completion may be stored securely, with storage fees applicable after this time.
8. Refunds & Returns (Bespoke Work)- Bespoke pieces are non-refundable and non-returnable, unless faulty, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.- A change of mind or personal preference does not qualify for a refund.- Any faults will be assessed and rectified at the maker's discretion within a reasonable timeframe.
9.Due to the handmade nature of bespoke jewellery, final weights may vary slightly during certain processes such as casting, finishing and polishing. A tolerance of ±0.5 grams gross weight is considered acceptable and does not constitute a fault.
10. Hallmarking & Certification- All precious metal items are hallmarked by an official UK Assay Office where legally required.- Stone certifications or appraisals (if applicable) will be provided on request and may incur additional fees.
11. Intellectual Property- All design concepts and images remain the intellectual property of Lora Leedham Jewellery Ltd unless otherwise agreed.- Reproduction of designs without permission is strictly prohibited.
12. Customer Responsibility- Clients are responsible for providing accurate information (finger sizes, engraving text, etc.).- Lora Leedham Jewellery Ltd cannot be held responsible for issues arising from incorrect details provided by the client.
13. Legal Jurisdiction - These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
