Responsible Jewellery Making

Responsible sourcing and thoughtful use of materials are an important part of the way I work. I use recycled gold and platinum in my jewellery and source diamonds and gemstones through established specialist suppliers. Diamonds are sourced with assurances in line with the Kimberley Process.

Remodelling also gives existing jewellery a new life, allowing suitable gemstones and sentimental pieces to be incorporated into new designs rather than simply replaced. My jewellery is packaged using recycled materials wherever possible, helping me reduce unnecessary waste throughout the process.

About Lora Leedham

Lora Leedham, bespoke jeweller and gemmologist, in her Birmingham Jewellery Quarter workshop

I’ve been designing and making jewellery in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter for over 20 years, specialising in bespoke commissions, remodelling and one-off pieces. As a qualified gemmologist, I can also offer knowledgeable, independent guidance when choosing diamonds and coloured gemstones for a commission.

Each piece is individually designed around the person who will wear it, whether I’m creating something completely new or transforming existing and inherited jewellery into a piece that can be enjoyed again. My work is made from my Jewellery Quarter workshop using traditional jewellery-making skills alongside modern techniques.
